Salesforce's seventh State of Sales reports rapid interest in AI agents among 4,050 surveyed sales professionals. Its percentages describe respondent experience and plans; they do not establish agent performance or the right architecture for one sales team.
Read the scope card before treating any percentage as a planning input.

Reported agent use and plans are rising. Salesforce says 54% of sellers surveyed had used agents and nearly nine in ten planned to by 2027. These are publisher-reported survey findings, not audited production deployment or outcome rates.
Leaders frame AI as a growth tactic. The report places AI investment high among reported growth priorities. A priority ranking does not show which workflow, quality threshold or financial return will follow.
Data and integration remain part of the operating problem. The report connects agent adoption with data and integration concerns under Salesforce's own product framing.
High-performing-team comparisons need caution. Performance groups are defined under the report's methodology and may differ in company mix or maturity. Association between agent use and performance is not automatically causal.
This is interpretation, not a Salesforce finding: create an agent evidence card for one sales step—job, source, allowed action, forbidden commitment, owner, replay set, quality threshold, cost unit and correction. Compare that card with a deterministic workflow before buying.
Easy AI recommends requiring current account, activity and product sources plus controlled actions; Salesforce did not test this fictional operating rule.
Completed fictional evidence card and comparison:
| Field | Entry |
|---|---|
| Sales job and source | Summarize a lead's stated requirements from the approved conversation transcript |
| Agent may | Draft a cited summary and flag missing fields |
| Agent may not | Change stage, promise price, send a proposal or infer budget |
| Owner and replay set | Sales operations owner; 60 archived conversations, including 15 incomplete cases |
| Quality and correction | Every stated requirement needs a quote; any unsupported field blocks the draft and returns to manual review |
| Cost unit | Cost per accepted, reviewed summary, including model use and reviewer time |
| Deterministic alternative | Copy only form fields into the CRM; use this route when all required fields are structured |
| Decision | Replay both routes; do not buy or enable live writes until evidence and total cost are compared |
The card is an Easy AI editorial example, not a Salesforce or Easy AI product result.
The survey is self-reported and vendor-sponsored. Country, role and performance-group composition affect interpretation. It does not prove AI-agent ROI, productivity, win rate, Salesforce implementation quality, independent product comparison or Easy AI capability.
Is the report downloadable? Yes through Salesforce's official page; regional form requirements may apply.
Does 54% mean production deployment? Not necessarily. Use depends on the survey question and respondent interpretation.
Can “nearly nine in ten” be a 2027 forecast? It is a stated plan among respondents, not an observed future outcome.
Use the official report page and official methodology announcement. Easy AI does not mirror or own the report, and this guide is not a symmetric product comparison. Then define AI agents, compare agents and chatbots, and scope a safe test through the sales automation guide.
